If you’re a fan of history, you likely enjoy visiting museums. At Valley Lo Towers, we understand that while you do enjoy visiting Chicago museums physically, sometimes you want to learn a bit about history from the comfort of your home. If that’s the case for you, you’re in luck. Several local history museums offer online resources, which you can enjoy from the comfort of our Glenview apartments.
Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center
There are a lot of great online resources for the Illinois Holocaust Museum. For example, you can book a virtual group tour of “Notorious RBG: The Life and Time of Ruth Bader Ginsburg.” The tour includes a video presentation where you will learn about the life of RBG as well as the history of the exhibit. The tour also includes a live Q&A. Samples of the audio tours, articles, photographs, and other videos are other online resources that you can view from home.
American Writers Museum
When you visit the American Writers Museum virtually, you will be able to see an exhibit dedicated to Frederick Douglass. It includes videos, photographs, and even a timeline of his life. You can also explore the My America exhibit online. This looks at writers who were immigrants, refugees, and second-generation immigrants. It looks at how their culture shaped them and their writing. A lot of this is done through recordings of firsthand interviews.
Chicago History Museum
There are also online exhibitions on the Chicago History Museum’s website. You can explore Abraham Lincoln’s life, learn more about our local history, and even read about people from around Chicago who served in World War I. You’ll explore multimedia that includes drawings, photographs, and articles.
You can also enjoy the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at home. Of course, to really enjoy these online Chicago museums, you need a great place to live. Contact us to learn why our apartments in Glenview are sure to be a great fit for you.Back to all posts
